Standard Sulpuric Anodising

We've Got It Covered

Suphuric Anodising - The most common form of anodising used in many industries ranging from catering, lighting to medical etc. The film produced can be a range of thickness from 1 - 25 micron depending on the aluminium and the requirements. Standard sulphuric anodising reflects the natural colour of the metal but the appearance can be varied by pre treating such as Blasting, Barreling (see pre treatments) or by applying a deep etch. These pre treatments would be used to give aluminium a satin, matt or bright finish. It is the most versatile of all anodising processes due to its high corrosion resistance, decorative appearance and everyday wearability. Colours can be applied to sulphuric anodised parts using one of our range of extensive colours (see coloured finishes). Again these colours can be applied in Matt, Satin or bright finishes.

We work to the following quality standard for sulphuric anodising:-

  • BS 1615/BSEN 12373-1 - 2001
  • DEF STAN - 03-25 (CLASS I AND CLASS II)
  • MIL-A-8625 TYPE III
